an iPhone radio.app is being developed in-house by Apple for use on the iPhone and iPod touch. The app will be allowed to operate in the background like iPod.app and will offer the same functionality as the FM radio in the new iPod Nanos. Sources mentioned that this application could also be incorporated into the iPod.app before release.
Apple Just posted a video of their ” It’s Rock ‘n’ Roll .. and we love it ” Keynote which embarks an emotional return of his holiness “Steve Jobes” to the scene.

invitations for Apple’s September 9th media event have been issued. Apple has chosen “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it,” a take on the Rolling Stones song “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It),” as the tag line for the event.
The event will be held at 10:00 AM Pacific Time at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, the site of several previous Apple September media events.

DigiTimes reports that Apple has contracted with OmniVision for 3.2-megapixel camera sensors that will be deployed in revised models of the iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod classic next month, presumably at Apple’s rumored September 9th media event.
OmniVision has secured CMOS image sensor (CIS) orders for upcoming Apple iPods, according to market sources.
OmniVision will be the sole supplier of 3.2-megapixel CIS products for new iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod Touch models which will be launched in September, the sources indicated.

It’s happened every September for the past few years, and it appears it’s on track again: Apple is planning a keynote event rumored to take place the second week of September.
Time to get the rumor mill kicked into high gear: Multiple music industry sources say Apple executives have told them the company is planning one of its famed keynote events for the week of Sept. 7. “according to AllThingsD’s Peter Kafka”
But in true Apple fashion, the company has been noncommittal about the exact date of the event and what it will be showing off..
Apple has traditionally held media-focused keynote event each September to introduce new iTunes features and iPod updates, making the announcement of a similar event this year an unsurprising move.
- 2008: Apple held a ”Let’s Rock” event to introduce iTunes 8 and new iPod touch, nano, and shuffle models.
- 2007: Apple held a ”The Beat Goes On” event introducing the original iPod touch alongside updates to the remainder of the iPod line, an iTunes 7.4 update, and iPhone price drops.
- 2006: Apple offered the ”It’s Showtime” event introducing iTunes 7 and iPod updates, as well as a sneak peak at the “iTV” that launched several months later as the Apple TV.
- 2005: Apple’s ”Here We Go Again” event introduced the Motorola ROKR mobile phone with iTunes support alongside the release of iTunes 5 and saw the introduction of the original iPod nano to replace the iPod mini.

Apple “Let’s Rock” event was held today and its primary focus was iPods. As expected, new iPod all over.

iPod Shuffles got new colors but otherwise remained the same in terms of storage.

The Classics got only a single capacity of 120GB and still come with the same design and the same two colors, black or white. The Genius playlist was also added to it. The price for the Classic is $249

iPod Nano
The Nano how ever was totally redesigned and now sports a longer shape with longer screen and an accelerometer to know when the thing is tilted. The Nano is offered in 9 different colors with either an 8GB or 16GB flash drive. It also offers a Genius feature which creates a play list of similar songs, and when you shake it, it shuffles your songs. Finally a nice curved design. Prices are $149 for the 8GB model and $199 for the 16GB model.

The large multi-story banner shows one of Apple’s iPod silhouette ads clearly suggesting a major iPod-related event. Persistent rumors have predicted that Apple will introduce a tall iPod Nano, a new iPod Touch, as well as iTunes 8. There are also suggestions that Apple could introduce the 2.1 iPhone firmware with some previously unannounced features.
