XRoad released a 1.2 version update for its Turn-by-Turn GPS routing for the iPhone, an App already exists in the App Store that delivers this basic functionality.

Apple proclaims that the App Store has surpassed 15,000 available applications and 500 million downloads. The milestones come just over six months after the App Store’s debut.

Apple last reported on December 5th, 2008 that they had surpassed 10,000 available applications and 300 million downloads, and the latest numbers demonstrate a significant acceleration in downloads when compared to previous milestone announcements.

This weekend, Microsoft entered the iPhone market with their first application called ”Seadragon Mobile” [App Store Link]. The free application is a product of Microsoft Live Labs and offers iPhone users the ability to view ultra-high resolution images on your iPhone:

“Seadragon is designed to provide next-generation visual experiences, regardless of the size of the screen, size of the file or speed of your network. It’s already available on a number of platforms, including Microsoft Surface, and in Photosynth and Silverlight. Google App for the iPhone/iPod Touch now supports Voice Search, The new update of the app should be uploaded to the App store any time.
