The iPhone DEV-TEAM has done it again! yes… they’ve unlocked the iPhone 3G and their software will be released on new years eve 2009, the video clearly demonstrate how it magically unlocks the iPhone 3G firmware v2.2 without the use of any hardware unlock, the software is code named “Yellowstone” .

“iPhone Nano” is the rumor that is going take the spotlight ahead of this year’s Macworld.
Macrumors posts “what suppose to be” a mock up photo of the expected phone, from the photo it looks like its close to reality, In the mean time, The site also posts a screen shot from iPhone case manufacturer XSKN who’s manufactoring cases for the expected device and lists the new phone under the “iPhone” category .
Few days left till MacWorld, we’ll have to wait and see if this rumor is true… What do you think ?
Apple has announced that Steve Jobs will not deliver the opening keynote presentation at the upcoming Macworld Expo in San Francisco on January 6th, 2009. Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, will take the stage in Jobs’ place. In addition, Apple announced that this is the final year in which Apple will exhibit at the Macworld Expo, pointing to the decreasing relevance of trade shows as Apple has expanded its direct contact with customers via retail stores and the company’s website.
Apple is reaching more people in more ways than ever before, so like many companies, trade shows have become a very minor part of how Apple reaches its customers. The increasing popularity of Apples Retail Stores, which more than 3.5 million people visit every week, and the Apple.com website enable Apple to directly reach more than a hundred million customers around the world in innovative new ways.
Apple has posted two new ‘Get a Mac’ commercials to their ad page. The holiday-themed ads utilize a style introduced in 2007 in which Justin Long and John Hodgman provide voices for animated versions of their “Mac” and “PC” characters.
Apple has released Mac OS X 10.5.6 to customers this afternoon.
The 10.5.6 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac.

Wired claims that Apple will be launching a new version of its Mac mini computer at Macworld Expo San Francisco in January.
Wired cites an Apple corporate employee as the source who could only confirm a release date at Macworld Expo. The Mac mini has been long overdue for updates leading many to assume that it had been abandoned by Apple. Recent reports have indeed suggested that a Mac mini update is imminent.
The author speculates the new Mac mini will adopt many of the recent physical and environmental improvements in physical design as well as include the newly introduced mini Display Port.
This weekend, Microsoft entered the iPhone market with their first application called ”Seadragon Mobile” [App Store Link]. The free application is a product of Microsoft Live Labs and offers iPhone users the ability to view ultra-high resolution images on your iPhone:
“Seadragon is designed to provide next-generation visual experiences, regardless of the size of the screen, size of the file or speed of your network. It’s already available on a number of platforms, including Microsoft Surface, and in Photosynth and Silverlight. Now we’re bringing that same graphical smoothness right to the iPhone in your pocket.“
iDealsChina publishes information and renderings of what it claims to be an “iPhone nano”.
It is the same height as the just release Nano but wider and thicker and with the same iPhone 3G contours.
iPhone “nano” rumors have persisted for some time with speculation that Apple could introduce a smaller/cheaper version of the iPhone. The site claims the product will be announced at Macworld San Francisco 2009.
