Apple released new Macbooks and Macbook Pros this week. The main feature is the new Multi Touch pad found on the Macbook Air. The Macbook starts at a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo processor and goes up to 2.4GHz with 2 GB Ram and 250GB HardDrive. While the Macbook Pro starts at a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor and goes up to 2.5GHz with 6MB Cache and Max of 4GB Ram. Hard drive is a 200GB and 250GB capacities. Apple has posted MacBook, MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0, which aims to address some keyboard issues some users may have been experiencing.
This MacBook and MacBook Pro firmware update addresses an issue where the first key press may be ignored if the computer has been sitting idle. It also addresses some other issues.
The update package will install an updater application into the Applications/Utilities folder and will launch it automatically. Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the update process.

Apple Online Store is down again, sources say that it might leading to the announcement of iPod/iPhone price drops (By $100) or it could lead to announcing a new product? We’ll have to wait and see. UPDATE: Apple has dropped the price of the iPod Shuffle to $49 (from $79) today. The $49 iPod Shuffle stores 1GB of songs or up to 240 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format. Meanwhile, a new 2GB model has also been introduced at $69.
Apple just released it’s update to it’s latest OS (Mac OSX 10.5) “Leopard” , The latest Update v10.5.2 is now available for download through Software Update on the main systems panel .
Also, Apple update it’s iLife suite with a new update also available through Software Update.

Apple announced Aperture 2, the next major release of its photo editing and management software. The new version contains over 100 new features with a streamlined user interface and entirely new image processing engine. Aperture 2 also introduces new imaging tools for highlight recovery, color vibrancy, local contrast definition, soft-edged retouching, vignetting and RAW fine-tuning, and lets users directly post their portfolios on the .Mac Web Gallery for viewing on the web, iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV.

Apple has released the Take 2 update for the Apple TV today. The software update is available for download from your Apple TV itself. The free software update allows Apple TV owners to rent movies without the use of a computer in standard and high definition formats. Library titles cost $2.99 and new releases are $3.99. High definition versions add $1 to the price of rental. Movies can be kept for 30 days, but expire within 24 hours of playback.

TUAW claims that apple will be holding a special event on the 26th of feb , no word yet on what that event would be but sources say that it might be concerning the release of the iPhone SDK , Apple is due for a number of potential releases in the coming weeks: Apple TV software revision, MacBook Pro updates, and Mac OS X 10.5.2. The iPhone SDK, however, is the most likely to warrant its own event.

Apple has posted an update to Quicktime bringing it to version 7.4.1 today. Updates are available for Leopard, Tiger, Panther, and Windows.
Apple reports the new Quicktime addresses security issues and improves compatibility with third-party applications. Specifically, the update addresses a possible vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution. This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users, and requires a restart.

This update addresses issues when publishing photos to a .Mac Web Gallery, improves overall stability, and fixes a number of other minor issues.
ProKit 4.5
This update improves reliability for Apple’s professional applications and is recommended for all users of Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Express, Aperture, Logic Studio and Logic Express.
Braille Display Update 1.0
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard includes a powerful screen reading technology for the blind called VoiceOver that supports a variety of refreshable Braille displays. When you have a supported Braille display connected to your computer, VoiceOver automatically detects it and sends it information about what is displayed on the screen. This installer adds support in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard for additional refreshable Braille displays.
