Could this be the awaited Ultra Slim Macbook Pro? We’ll have to wait until Jan 15 when his holiness “Steve Jobs“ unveils the latest apple products at MacWorld 2008. !!
AppleInsider reports that there will be something “super secret” unveiled at a January 16 Final Cut Pro group, held a day after Steve Jobs’ January 15 Macworld keynote. What it is is unknown (obviously, because it’s a secret), but will probably not be the next version of Final Cut Studio. It could be an updated Mac Pro with improved processors/memory/specs/whatever, but it’s unlikely that it’s going to be anything for the consumer audience. So unless you’re waiting for an update to the high end Macs or some sort of Final Cut software feature update, you won’t have much to look forward to.
Crunchgear says the secret’s out, and it’s going to be integrated Redcode inside Final Cut Studio. This means there will be native Red support, editing that 4k video image at a lower resolution so you won’t have to tax your box looking at 4k pixels whenever you’re editing.
Macrumors is reporting that the rumored ultraportable Macbook we’re hoping for at Macworld 08 is to have Multitouch trackpad and external optical. The optical makes sense, and is welcome. The Multitouch Trackpad rumor is a curiousity: Macbooks already use simple multitouch in trackpads for two-finger scrolling. Maybe a Leopard update will allow for things like zooming and swiping, like the iPhone.
Also, rumors are saying that Apple is designing a replacement for the iSight. They won’t say any more other than that it is to be attached to the screen in “an unusual manner”.
9to5mac.com is reporting that a team of developers are in the process of finalizing VoIP Application for the iPod touch and soon the iPhone. The site has a video of the application in action and according to them so far it only works with SIP accounts. The team is also taking orders for the iPod touch Microphone. Voice over IP allows a user to make calls over a wifi connection instead of a cell network. When the touch was first released we stated that for this device to be complete all it needs was some apps and VOIP and finaly someone answered the call. Check out the Video here!
